Basik’s works are characterized by clean lines that allude to graphic design, while his more recent works demonstrate the need for a deeper connection between the creator, the portrayed theme and the technique.
Basik has been working on his art since 1991, and has gradually moved from graffiti to a painting style that blends elements of his past with inspirations from the Baroque period to the present.
In his most recent works, particular attention is given to the symbolic movements of the hands, drawing inspiration from popular culture, common places, and the imagery of religious art.
The gestures go beyond mere representation, and are used to communicate messages on various levels that incorporate both tributes to great artists of the past and reflections on the relationship between art and the artist, the artwork and the viewer, galleries and digitization.
