About Elfo

Just like the magical and desecrating creature of medieval mythology, Elfo – born in 1979 – retains the viral intuition, the invisible damage, the charm of the ephemeral.
His provocative phrases, with their raw and minimal aesthetics, are caricatures of our society, an ironic criticism aimed at the instrumentalization of urban decorum to refine the similarity between museal beauty and street art. The saturation of public space and its expressive hunger demand an alternative: cemeteries, supermarkets and abandoned factories are transformed into places of experimentation, of out-of-context, of extemporaneity.
In the 2000s, Elfo’s conceptual vocation became the guardian of a pioneering intuition that led him to exaggerate the function of the Internet. Cyberspace is not only a dissemination tool, but becomes a vehicle of disruption: web performances, attacks on the overdose of images, self- sabotage and computer hacking are the languages of Elfo’s viral art. A cybernaut of a futuristic and revolutionary urban art.
