Ghost Notes

Ghost Notes

September 21, 2018 – October 5, 2018

From September 21 to October 5, 2018, the gallery in Via Palazzuolo presented in its exhibition space the first solo exhibition of Rikyboy, entitled “Ghost notes”.
Rikyboy expresses himself through a symbolic, pictorial and at the same time graphic language that underlines the themes of his research. From the beginning, his nature has led him to break out of the stereotype that forces urban art into the limits of graffiti art, American Writing or politically engaged murals.

This solo exhibition was born from the desire to give the public a complete overview of a diversified artistic path, precisely because the artist’s approach is linked to the street, but at the same time includes painting and engraving techniques.

In Ghost Notes, Rikiboy worked with different media, while maintaining a strongly symbolic visual language in all the works. The “ghostly notes,” the protagonists of the exhibition, appear as graphic notes that the artist describes as “imperceptible” and that permeate the main plot of each work.
It is precisely these ghostly notes, referring to a photographic detail or the title of a song that inspired the artist, that led the viewer through the exhibition space like an imperceptible thread.
