Mr. G. is known for his unique style with bold lines but soft and fluid shapes that form large color spaces. His work, which the artist himself defines as “ultra-pop,” stands out for the fusion of intense colors and surreal figures through which he conveys a powerful and incisive social message. In this artistic intervention, Mr. G. draws a parallel between the pylons supporting the train station bridge and nature. In this context, the Ultrafiori , with their psychedelic forms, become a symbol of a strong and resilient nature that manages to emerge in an urban environment dominated by the concrete. Mr. G.’s Ultrafiori reaffirm the importance of nature on our planet, too often forgotten. Their unconventional beauty challenges traditional aesthetic norms, inviting viewers to overcome prejudices and recognize the value of diversity and uniqueness.

From this perspective, the title of the work recalls the pacifist slogan of the 1960s, “Mettete dei fiori nei vostri cannoni” encouraging reflection on the idea that only by rediscovering the relationship between humans and nature is possible to overcome any type of conflict. Flowers with its delicate strength, represent hope, symbolizing a peaceful but powerful action, the only force capable of changing and improving the world.

The project for the Lastra a Signa train station fits into a complex urban context, characterized by a strong architecture that was criticized for its negative visual impact. In response, Street Levels Gallery proposed an artistic intervention capable of restoring value to the site, transforming the station into a space that also reflects the historical and cultural identity of the city.

The choice to focus on a strategic area like train stations born from the need to counter phenomena of degradation and crime, which increasingly characterize these locations.

The project exemplifies how urban art can be an aesthetic, social, and cultural regeneration. Thanks to the innovative vision of Street Levels Gallery, the support of Comune di Lastra a Signa, Città Metropolitana di Firenze and the creativity of Mr. G., the train station has been transformed into a symbol of renewal and community cohesion.

The Ultrafiori not only enhance the urban space but also imbue the location with profound meanings, stimulating a collective reflection on the essential connection between nature and urbanization.
