About James Vega

James Vega is a Peruvian artist who has been living and working in Florence for several years.
His Latin-American origin and his artistic path have led him to develop a very personal style in his works, which focuses on the study of human anatomy to create unique and distinctive characters. Despite the absence of formal academic training, James has managed to develop a very personal style, implemented through various techniques and materials.
The result is works with strong shapes and undefined faces, emerging from the darkest phase of the artist’s creative process, and representing the fruit of years of sketches, drawings and suspended works. His art is often associated with an irrational dimension, which allows him to give shape to tribal and primitive figures, pervaded by a melancholic carnality and a certain instability. A testament to the commitment and passion that the artist puts into each of his works, his art can be admired in various Italian and European cities.
