MR. G.’s paintings lend a lysergic sheen to everyday objects and habits: the whirling flow of thoughts, fears and experiences feeds the oscillation of the artist – and of humankind – between irrefutable reality and the most extreme fiction.
About Mr. G.
MR. G., born in Abruzzo, lives and works in Florence since 2001. His graphic compositions elaborate metropolitan life using a colorful and densely detailed style, with a vaguely psychedelic flavor.
With his decisive stroke and his marked signs, the artist defines his imaginary – in the street as in the studio – drawing from a panorama of real and fantastic figures; his graphic interpretations represent objects that populate the real world, but also and above all his imaginary world. A style defined by himself as “ultra pop”, where pastel and neon colors collide, exploding on the typical black backgrounds.
In his scenarios, MR. G. conceptualizes the human being and identifies the exact synthesis in the wooden stump: his “trunk of man” is placed in relation with a harmony of themes, including the relationship between man and nature, the dynamics of social interaction and the consequentiality that is established between the evolution of man and the transformation of the urban landscape.
