Her artist name is her declaration of intent.
NULO finds in the fascination for order
the reasons for her annulment: existence
is deprived of its meaning and at the same time
becomes significant in error, in dislocation, in decay.

The year 1989 coincides with the fall of the “Iron Curtain” and the birth of NULO in Montevideo, interpreter of what is void, non- existent, cancelled.
NULO has built her creative research on the disintegration of order: While on one side of the world a new equilibrium is sought, on the other side an artist is born who destroys this equilibrium and simplifies reality to its most radical essence. Her abstract, two-dimensional painting frees itself from decoders to return to the most childlike elementarity, to the sharpest simplification, to the revelation of truth.
The habit of constructing common codes recalls NULO to mystic, expressive, emancipatory disorder. In the interweaving of her fluid chromatisms, the Uruguayan artist distances herself from herself in order to identify with the existential spirit of the child, and thus of all humanity.
