Tree-Roots and Crown

Tree-Roots and Crown

March 16, 2018 – April 3, 2018

Tree-Roots & Crown, a solo exhibition by Zeus Oczb, was on view in our gallery on March 16, 2018.
The exhibition tells the story of the eponymous album by singer and friend Mezzosangue, with which the artist creates a symbiotic relationship between words and sounds, where the pen responds to the music and vice versa.
The exhibition consists of 20 works, each associated with a title of the album, with the exception of two works that the artist added inspired by two tracks that are not included on the LP.
The gallery is set up like Mezzosangue’s house, the place where the album was made, and in the center of the room is a large tree whose branches break through walls and windows, in a metaphor that sees Mezzosangue himself breaking out of his nest.

The exhibition is a photographic recollection of the difficult moments that the singer experienced during his life and which he has now overcome.

Zeus Oczb speaks about his friend, but he also speaks about himself, as if to make an invitation to himself to break through the walls that oppress him: to go out and be reborn.
